Let your Linux box express itself!

This set of bash scripts (that can be used independently) will allow you to give voice to your Linux box (Supported languages: "en-GB", "en-US", "de-DE", "it-IT", "fr-FR" (default)):

- TalkingClock : voice clock + TalkingHaveANiceDay.

- TalkingHaveANiceDay : greeting according to the time

- TalkingFortune: tells you a joke at each launch (uses fortune packages).

- TalkingWeather : voice weather (your city and country is to be specified at the beginning of the script) in long version (very detailed) or short version. Also tells you if the meto has changed since his last call.

- TalkingIntro : a launch of all these scripts at the startup of your PC (welcome message to customize in the script, then weather, a joke, the time).


Note: the translation tool (crow) uses libretranslate, lingva, Yandex, Bing or Google translation services


INSTALLATION:

In each script (at the beginning of the script) initialize :

- for each of the modules: your language in the variable $DefaultLang
- for the TalkingWeather module: your location (variable "Area")
- for the TalkingHaveANiceDay module: the appropriate greeting in your language according to the time of day (morning, noon, afternoon and evening)

Copy all these scripts to the same place and install the packages below (all in Arch/Manjaro repositories):

For the voices (minimum requirement) (supported voices: de-DE, en-GB, en-US, es-ES, fr-FR, it-IT)

For voice message translation (by default they are written in English and translated on the fly before being pronounced in your language)

To activate the talking clock:
Command to launch (to be adapted to the location): /mnt/DDprc/Download/Goupil/TalkingClockHours

Configuration of Kalarm:
In the notification bar:
- Right click on the Kalarm icon then "Configure Kalarm..."
   >"General" tab, "Start when connected"
   >"Default alarms" tab, activate the "Cancel if too late" option (to avoid that the voice alarm is triggered several times when your window manager starts).
- Left click on the Kalarm icon then "New", "New alarm by a command", then (...) + check "Cancel if too late"
